Beckham almost out of World Cup 2010: he tore his Achilles’ tendon

Last AC. Milan win over Chievo Verona ended with a terrible injury for David Beckham, who is likely to miss the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The English star pulled up frozen in the center circle, hopped on his right leg, and then fell down. "It’s broken! It’s broken!” he shouted to his team mates.

“David felt the muscle begin to come up, a typical symptom when you break an Achilles’ tendon. This is really sad for all of us” Milan coach Leonardo explained.

The first reports suggested that Beckham would be out for about three months but the club's doctors have stated that he could be even five to eight months in recovery process.

This news was also a blow for England, but it's not that bad for Capello, since he was not even sure of taking Becks to South Africa.
