Semifinals: Netherlands beat Uruguay and reach the final for the third time in history

The first semifinal played at the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town was a really good match and delivered some of the best goals in the tournament. Indeed, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's superb opener scored in the first half is a perfect example of it. In the end, the Orange team defeated Uruguay 3-2 but things were really equilibrated until the very last minute.
After the first goal, Diego Forlán netted the equalizer for the South American team. In the second half, Wesley Sneijder (70') and Arjen Robben (73') scored the winning goals. But Tabarez' side would not give up for their dream, and scored their last goal thanks to Maxi Pereira.
