Quarterfinals: Germany was too much for Maradona's side

Maradona was convinced that his team would win the Cup but his dream ended at the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town. Germany, with Klose and Müller commanding a powerful attack, crushed Argentina 4-0.
The goals were scored by Thomas Müller (3'), Miroslav Klose (68'), Arne Friedrich (74') and Klose again (89'). The South American team had Messi on the field but they were no rival for a solid German team.
Many newspapers in Argentina criticized that a team with players like Messi, Milito and Tevez should have reach at least the semifinals and the main reason for the fail was Maradona's lack of experience as a coach.
